Revised Character Template « Thread Started on Dec 25, 2008, 3:25am »
Below is an updated character template for your use. Fields in bold are required information- that is, you must have content for them, even if it's "None" in the case of injuries, equipment, or weapons- and those in italics indicate sub-categories. These subcategories aren't required to be a part of the format, but it is helpful to either leave them intact, or to incorporate the information they ask for in their root field.
Name: Self-explanatory. -Alias: Does your character have a nickname, alter ego, or callsign?
Age: How old is your character? -Date of Birth: When was your character born? For continuity's sake, bear in mind that the Raccoon City incident takes place in 1997.
Appearance: What does your character look like? It is best to describe them in paragraph format. -Physical Build: Your character's physique. Is he or she scrawny? A bodybuilder? Horribly obese? What does their face look like? How tall are they? -Clothing: What is your character wearing? For military, law enforcement, and mercenary characters, your character will seem more thought-out if you include their uniform as well as civilian clothing. -Distinguishing Features: Does your character have any scars or tattoos that make them stand out in a crowd?
Equipment: What does your character have on their person? This does not include weapons. Military, law enforcement, and mercenary characters should have combat gear like tactical vests, helmets, and radio headsets listed here as well.
Weapons: What does your character posess to use in combat? -Ammunition: If your character is using a ranged weapon, how much ammunition does it have? If it's a gun, how many magazines do they have for it? -Modifications: Does your character's knife have a serrated edge? Does their gun have a foregrip or grenade launcher attached? -Location: Every weapon has to be stored somewhere, whether it's in your character's hands, in a pocket, slung across their back, or secured in a holster. Where is each weapon found?
Injuries: Has your character been hurt in some way? Has the wound been medically treated, or has it healed naturally? If so, to what extent?
Strengths: What is your character good at? -Physical Strengths: Is your character able to lift heavy objects? Are they good with firearms, or sneaking past their enemies? What can they do physically that not everyone else can? -Intellectual Strengths: Is your character great with computers, or do they know how to make bombs or pick locks? What skills has your character picked up in life that makes them unique? -Behavioral Strengths: Is your character a charismatic leader, or does he or she have the knack for knowing just what to say to cheer someone up or defuse a fight? What about your character's personality makes them stand out?
Weaknesses: What can your character not do well? -Physical Weaknesses: Does your character swim like a rock? Is there a cataract that interferes with his or her depth perception or field of vision? Can they only run for short distances before becoming tired? What can your character only do if they exert themselves tremendously- if even then? -Intellectual Weaknesses: Is your character illiterate? Are they bad at problem solving, or simply jump to conclusions without all the facts? What does your character rely on other people to do because they can't do it themselves? -Behavioral Weaknesses: Does your character have a heroin addiction, or are they an alcoholic? Maybe they suffer from depression- either the result of recent events, or long-term clinical depression- or anxiety? Or could they just not really like to be a part of a group working for a collective goal? What about your character's lifestyle and personality makes others feel a sense of pity or unease?
Personality: How does your character act in most social settings? Does this change at all when they are faced with sadness? Anger? Fear? What about when they are fighting?
Occupation: What did your character do for a living up until the outbreak? -Education: What level of education did your character complete? Did they drop out of high school, or pass medical school to become a neurosurgeon?
History: Describe your character's life up until the outbreak. -Childhood: Where did your character grow up? Were they born an only child, or did they have siblings to grow up with? Did their family have enough money to provide everything, or did they live paycheck to paycheck, scraping along by the skin of their teeth? -Teenage Years: How was high school for your character? Did they meet any life-changing friends- or make enemies that would shape their life? Was their home life the same as before, or did it change- for better or worse- somehow? What job held appeal to them during these years? Adulthood: Did your character join the military, go to college, or head straight into the working world after high school? Did they meet someone, settle down, raise a family of their own- or live out a few years alone?
Family: Even if they have all died in the outbreak, please provide the names and relations of your character's immediate family (parents, siblings, spouse if applicable, children if they have any).
RP Sample: Please provide us an example of how you intend to roleplay with this character. It doesn't have to be particularly long, but as always, the more complete and comprehensive, the better!

It started on September 29 the sounds of the dead making noises. "Jenny! Kazuo! Lock the doors!" Said Toshi. Jenny runs over to the front door while Toshi starts moving the dresser in the way. "Kazuo help me out here please!" Said Toshi. I got up off the couch in a daze not knowing what was going on around me. "Whats wrong guys?" Said Kazuo. "Z-zombies outside!" Said a terrifed Jenny. "Kazuo I need your help!" said Toshi. "Fine ok then." Said Kazuo. Kazuo gets off the couch and helps Toshi with the dresser putting it in front of the door. "Ok well guys wait right here ok I will be right back." said Kazuo. Kazuo walks into his room and starts ripping out the floorboard. He pulls out a Browning HP and a Colt S.A.A. Kazuo sets them on the floor then pulls out his guitar case and opens it up to see his weapons are still there. Kazuo close up the guitar case and Toshi walks in. "Kazuo what are you doing?" said Toshi. "Im getting some gear." Said Kazuo with a grin on his face. Kazuo then throws the Browning HP at Toshi. Toshi catches it but then almost drops it. "Where did you get the gun!?" said Toshi. "That does not matter...Lets just get the hell out of here. Oh give this to Jenny." Kazuo hands the Colt S.A.A. to Toshi. "Where are we going?" said Toshi. "We are going to an abandon church this place is not safe at all so were leaving now." Said Kazuo. Toshi and Kazuo walk out to the living room and can hear the zombies climbing up the stairs. "Oh my god! What are we going to do?!" said Jenny. Kazuo looks at the window and opens it. "Come on were getting out!" Before they can leave Toshi runs in the kitchen and turns on the gas in the oven. Jenny makes it through, Kazuo waits for Toshi to come by. Toshi starts running to the window when the zombies bust the door down. "Damn come on Toshi!" said Kazuo. Toshi makes it through the window. Kazuo then smells the gas and grins. "Toshi I always knew you had a wild side." Kazuo says to himself. Kazuo then shoots the oven and quicky barrel rolls out the window. "Kazuo you ok?" Said a worryed Jenny. Kazuo gets up and brashes his shoulders. "Im fine lets move!" said Kazuo. After a long hour they make it the the church and decided to call this their new home...
