Well then, Figured it's about time we updated the rules a bit. I'll just post our current rules with some added info about each.
Forum Rules
Posting Rules
No posting anything that is knowingly:
* False * Harrassing * Sexually Oriented * Abusive * Hateful * Invading someone else's privacy * Illegal * Offensive * Disrespectful
No Fighting - Fighting can lead to problems such as members going off topic. We do not want any fighting going on outside the flamming forum. This is one of the more enforced rules, because it is the same as drama starting, which noone wants to deal with. So, if you must fight, take it into PMs, and KEEP IT THERE!
Swearing - Swearing usually doesn't bother me, as long as it is not the only thing you say. I don't care if you swear, just don't make it a costant habit. More over, try not to swear towards people out of character. So avoid the swearing at people alright?
Spamming - Please do not spam our forums. Spamming can be any posts which serve no point, or advertising. All advertising is to be done only in the Advertising board. This means no posting links to forums in the Cbox! More over, DO NOT double, triple, or more on post in a thread. Wait until someone else posts.
Racism - We do not ever want to see any racism going on in our forums. If we do, it will be an automatic warning.
Selling Items - We do not ever want to see any posts or topics trying to sell something. This will be classified as spam.
Posting Images - Posting images is of course okay, just make sure they aren't copyrighted and that they are appropriate.
Posting Topics/Replies - Please keep all topics and replies in propper forums. Do not duplicate a topic if it already exists.
PM Rules
PM Advertising - Do not advertise in PMs. Nobody wants to hear about your site. You may only advertise your site to Myself or Rain if it's an affiliation request.
PMing Staff - Staff members get enough PMs as it is. Please do not PM them to say "Hi". More over, DO NOT PM US ASKING TO BE STAFF!!! Unless you are approached about being staff by the staff themselves, and it's agreed on by all the staff, then most likely, you won't be staff. More over, you need to prove yourself worthy of being staff just to be considered.
Spamming
Basic Spamming Rules - You may never spam on The Labs. You may not spam topics, forums, or in PMs and E-Mails.
Report Spam - Please report any form of spam. We get extremely unhappy when we find out that a form of spam wasn't reported.
Other Rules
Bullying - Do not bully other members. This could include blackmailing or taking advantage of other members. Do not bully anyone on the forums. This also includes contast rudeness towards members. Some people have an issue with this and following this rule, so know that it will be enforced very strictly.
Creating Accounts - You may only create one account. There are many reasons for this. You can only create multiple accounts if there is a valid reason that is cleared by a staff member.
Canon Characters - The usage of canon characters works on a thread by thread basis, not a claiming basis. This means that if Giles wishes to use Chris in a thread, then he may. At the same time, Spike can use Chris in another thread as long as it's not a prequal or sequal thread to the one Giles is in.
Realism - Also, and this is more to prevent that correct. Stay true to the nature of Resident Evil. Not every single person is so used to seeing an undead that they show no fear when approached by one, or worry. Not every human is armed to the teeth, and a master warrior both hand to hand and with weapons. Most of them are simple people leading simple lives. Please keep that in mind, and have your characters showing the proper reactions.
Karma Boosting - This is just annoying. Do not give someone karma over and over so they give you karma over and over. If you do, you will end up with less karma then you started with. More over, do not make multiple accounts to boost your own karma. You will lose and account and alot of karma.
Altered rules
Limited Acceptance - Altered Characters follow limited acceptance rules. This means that only a few will be accepted at a time. So, if none are being accepted, most likely, none will be accepted for a while. This is to prevent tons of over powered characters from running around the forum. Keep this in mind if you want an altered, and also keep in mind not to harass staff, like the admin, about accepting your altered, day after day after day after day.
Altered Details - Now then, if you want to make an altered, then you need to first read the Altered Guidelines thread, and follow the altered bio format. If you don't, then don't expect to have your altered accepted. More over, do not try and alter the Guidelines and Info so your own Altered idea is the most powerful of all. This will not sit well with the creater of the Altered. Another note to keep in mind is that Alraune is the oldest Altered, and shall remain that way for storyline reasons.
Limited Acceptance Timelines - Now then, limited allowance works like this. Based on how many normal characters there are, we allow a few altered. This means about for every 15-20 normal characters, we allow one altered. Normally, I like to wait until about 5 openings are available before allowing any to be accepted. Please remember this.
Altered Requirements - If you want to use an altered, you need a few things first. You must have an example of your roleplaying ability here on the Labs to reference to. This is to ensure that you can handle a high-powered character reasonably and fairly. You also need a normal human character or two. This is because the Altered are very powerful characters, and they require a great deal of skill to use. So you must earn the right to use them, and prove you can handle the power.
Retro Applied - These rules are applied to all waiting Altered and Enhanced.
Enhanced Rules
Rundown - Basically, the Enhanced follow the same rules as the Altered, but a bit different. Still gotta read the altered Guidelines and Info to understand what an Enhanced is. This is because Enhanced are not as powerfulas Altered.
